About Terrasaurus

The idea for setting up Terrasaurus had been around for quite some time, but as more and more reptiles were added to the (then private) collection in 2020, it slowly came to life. Expanding the collection went hand in hand with expanding our knowledge about different reptiles, in particular keeping reptiles bioactive. In 2021, the Terrasaurus brand really took off. The goal of Terrasaurus is to provide a platform full of information about reptiles, keeping reptiles, and knowledge about bioactivity. The mission of the company is to spread this knowledge and also to provide the market and hobby with beautiful and healthy reptiles.

We look forward to further developing Terrasaurus, by eventually supplying the market with terrariums and accessories in addition to reptiles. We like to see Terrasaurus as inclusive as possible, which is why our ambition is to be able to offer products in different price ranges. From second-hand to custom-made enclosures, and from existing products to our own developed products. In the long run, we hope to be able to receive you in a physical Terrasaurus store, so that we can also provide you with advice while enjoying a cup of coffee. Would you like to stay informed of these developments? Then sign up here for the newsletter!

Founder Terrasaurus

Ever since I was little, I had an interest in animals. Reptiles in particular. However, it took until I was 20 before I bought my first reptile. A corn snake, Houdini. Not long after that, I bought my first hognose snake, and not much later a couple of garter snakes. Thamnophis s. infernalis to be exact. The Thamnophis has changed my view on snake keeping. It is from that moment that my interest started in different species and subspecies, colors, genes, and in how I could keep my snakes in more natural enclosures. The collection has now multiplied and is still expanding. Within Terrasaurus I am responsible for maintaining and further developing the collection. I am also constantly gathering new knowledge about the reptile world, and I hope to be able to develop myself further in this field, in addition to developing the company.

In 2019 I got to know Matteo, and for the first time I came into contact with someone who had reptiles as pets. A whole different world than the dog-cat-guinea pig world that I was used to. Over the years I've seen Matteo expand his collection from 8 reptiles in 2019, to 65 reptiles in 2021. Sponsored by Matteo, I got my first reptile in 2020. A Russian tortoise, named Babe. One of the smallest animals in the collection, with the largest enclosure. Within Terrasaurus I am responsible for maintaining the website and expanding Terrasaurus as a brand. I am an MSc Forest and Nature Conservation student, and I can see myself applying that knowledge within Terrasaurus in the future.
